Our Mission

Our mission is to educate and expose members to the horse racing industry within Lexington, KY. Through educational meetings, guest speakers by industry professionals, and engaging social events, we aim to foster an environment where members can give their equine aspirations direction. Being a part of the Horse Racing Club, members are able to learn about the equine racing industry, develop interpersonal skills, and connect with potential employers.

 FAQs

  • Anyone that is a student at the University of Kentucky is welcome to join! Our members include undergraduate and graduate students, as well as some PhD students of all majors.

  • We’re flexible. Meetings are every other Thursday at 6:00PM. Members have the opportunity to sign up for industry tours, which are held every other week in the months of September, October, March, and April. Members can be as involved as they’d like. While we encourage attending meetings and events, we understand that everyone’s schedule is different and they are not mandatory.

  • Not at all! No background knowledge or hands-on experience is required. We welcome beginners as well as those who already have industry or equine experience.

  • This is actually our most frequently asked question. No, we do not ride the horses.
